This brings a reworked folder tree and and a new message list, which is much more powerful than the old one.
New features include grouping, multiline items and the ability to customize just about everything of the look of the message list.
Also, we have a tabbed interface for opening more than one folder at once now.
An important aspect of the new message list is that drawing speed is now fast again (there was a regression in Q3ListView that
made huge folders a real pain to navigate, reading commit folders was not a nice thing to do).
There are probably more things which I forgot to list here.
Also, this is big step forward in getting rid of Qt3Support in KMail, now just some tiny bits are left.
Many thanks to SoC student Szymon Stefanek for his awesome work on his project! I can't stress enough how great this
achivment is. He even added very good API documentation to his classes :)
This requires the lastest version of qt-copy, otherwise you'll get mysterious crashes in Qt painting code from time to time.
We hope that this patch will be added to the next Qt 4.4.x version.
And finally, this merge also brings many regressions, which is not unnatural for such a big change.
In the remaining time before the KDE 4.2 release, we'll have to work on those to get it polished and regression-free.
Help here is always needed, and is a good opportunity to start working on KMail, since many regressions are low hanging fruit.
It also means the message list and the folder tree need a bit of testing.
If you find bugs, report them under the "new message list" and "new folder tree" component of the bug tracker, thanks.

it provides very common functionality. Named it KPIM::TreeWidget
and used also as base of KMMimePartTree in kmail to maximize code reusal.
Others might take advantage of it.
Avoid using numeric constants for column indexes in KMMimePartTree.
Use descriptive preprocessor constants instead.
Implemented sorting in KMMimePartTree: it's useful when many attachments
are present and one wants only the ones of a certain type.
By default the sort indicator is not shown and we keep the sort insertion
order. We also revert to this order each time the view is filled.
Some minor additions to documentation
Source cleanup: inverted the order of a couple of functions.

- Don't eat escape or enter keypresses, so that moving a message to a folder
with the keyboard works again
- actually return the correct folder, by setting the currentItem as well, instead of

Therefore we get a correctly sorted column and this works around the qlistview limitation.
I set the folders to be opened according to the foldertree as I think this is more convenient
than opening all folders, especially if you have lots of folders.

The follow features have been implemented:
* KMail is now a KPart and can be embedded in the Kontact/Kaplan
container applications along with other KDE PIM applications.
* Remove duplicates function for removing duplicate messages in
a folder.
* Messages can be dragged and dropped on a composer window to
add those messages as attachments.
* Deletion in threaded mode is improved, child messages will no
longer be scattered when a parent is deleted.
* Multiple messages can now be selected in the search dialog.
* New context menu in the search dialog with Move, Copy, Reply
etc. actions for operating on selected messages.
* Search criteria in the search dialog now supports more types
of rules and a variable number of rules.
* Faster searching of large messsages.
* 'Search Folders' which are a KMail folder that stores a search
expression and is dynamically updated (also known as virtual
folders).
* The separate window for reading mail has a context menu with
Reply, Copy etc. actions for operating on the message
displayed.
* The separate window for reading mail has a tool bar.
* Startup of KMail is faster.
* Switching between folders is faster.
* The contents of all composer windows are saved to disk on
composer window creation and then periodically saved to
prevent mail loss in the result of a system crash.
* The state of KMail folders is saved to disk periodically to
prevent status information loss in the result of a system
crash.
Note after start KMail switching to folders for the first time will
slow as the format of the .sorted file has changed.
